Planting of 1.117 ha
The Elaeïs plantation is the place where rubber farming began in Côte d’Ivoire. It is located on the edge of the Aghin lagoon on the Alépé road.
This plantation was not developed by deforestation but by the gradual replacement of the coffee and palm trees that were then planted in this area and that were nearing the end of their life. The plantation of Elaeïs covers 1,117 ha.
It is on this site that Côte d’Ivoire’s first rubber processing plant was built.
